Women's Circle tonight

So, I went to my first Women's Circle with the church and loved it! It was bittersweet. The circle usually meets at the church in our Sunday School room, but this time we met at a Women's Christian maternity home. Very touching...sad...inspirational...etc. The home is called The Living Vine. It is just a normal looking house (well, its rather long) in a really cute part of Savannah called Ardsley Park. It is a home for women ( and VERY young girls) to stay while they are pregnant. The home has been around for about 13 years and has housed over 270 women. There are 12 beds but they usually don't have that many. There are 4 living in there right now. Those 4 were very troubled young women. Not to go into too much detail but one was 14, one was 22, and one was pregnated because her mother was a prostitute and started selling her daughter to make money as well. Heartbreaking stories I tell you.
It was amazing to see the structured Christian environment they were living in. The girls have to be up and at the breakfast table by 8am every morning with their Bible, ready for their prayer. They go to a learning center, attend parenting classes, get prenatal vitamins, and have 3 meals a day. FOR FREE! Its amazing!
This home really touched my heart. I was so glad that my first Women's Circle meeting was at the Living Vine. I felt as if the Lord was with me tonight telling me that Jim and I joined His church for a reason and that I was right where I was supposed to be. That the decision Jim and I made this past Sunday was one of the best decisions we could've made as a couple...in our entire life! I am so excited to get involved with such a wonderful group of women and to be able to help our community through spreading His word any way possible! Tonight it just so happened to be through troubled women....
I will definitely be laying in bed tonight counting my many many blessings!
Happy Tuesday!
