"Goin to Carolina"... or should I say "went"

We had so much fun this weekend...maybe that's why my body feels like it has been run over 100 times! Everyday was something new and nonstop to say the least. The drive wasn't as long as I thought it was going to be. I didn't sleep once!! If any of you know me, that's a miracle! Now, on the way..that's a different story.

Friday we went to the Biltmore Estate. Ahhhh- mazing! I was drooling the entire time...can you imagine what everyone thought about this thing in the 1800's?

I couldn't take my camera inside the house so this is all I got.

Jim's dad and stepmom.

Me and Jim.

In the backyard.

The garden full of tulips and snapdragons. My fave!

The bass pond.

I didn't get any pictures of our wine tasting adventure but it was so fun! Their wines were delicious. We bought a bottle of champagne for our anniversary. It was strange spending more than $5 on some Andre champagne.
Saturday we went to Jim's dad's work. He works at a prison! It was so interesting! I loved every minute of it (even though I was nervous as can be walking by all the prisoners). I obviously couldn't take my camera in there so I didn't get any good pictures. I love the show "Lock Up" so I really want to go see a prison in person. Jim wasn't too thrilled about us going there. It was so worth it though!
Afterwards we went to this beautiful place on a mountain and took a few pictures after lunch.

Later that night we went to dinner at the Marina. So fun and pretty! There was a band playing and we all sat around and talked the entire night. After we finished eating we sat out by the water and just listened to the band and had a few cocktails. My kind of Saturday night!
This was the view from the restuarant's deck.

Jim's dad, grandma, sister in law, step brother, step mom, Jim and me.

Our hostess for the weekend! She was so happy to have us staying with her. We loved it!

Overall, a wonderful weekend! Can't wait to go back and visit more.
Happy Cinco De Mayo everyone!!!!
