Shopping for the house

Oh so fun! I better do all the shopping now before that first mortgage payment goes through...ouch!

I cannot even concentrate on work anymore because all I do is search the internet for decor. My excuse to Jim is "Our condo was so small and if we don't fill it with furniture it will look so bare and won't feel like home!". It's not working too well. Jim will be happy with a chair, a beer, and a tv. Me...not so much.

I need to see a few of these beauties around me...

Everything above: Leontine Linens One of my fave stores. Can't really afford anything there (maybe one thing a year).

I'm still struggling with paint colors. These are the "families" I'm going with though.

Khaki throughout most of the house. Dark chocolate in the downstairs bath.

The light blue in the top half of the dining room...bottom half white.

Possibly a gray in our bedroom???

Restoration Hardware colors (will be taken to Lowe's to be matched for a cheaper price)

This is the rug I would like to get a few of for my kitchen.
I would like this rug for the formal living room. I am totally struggling with this whole formal living room thing. I kind of think its a total waste of space. Both of my grandparents had a formal living room and the only time we were in there was at Christmas...like I said total waste of space. But, ours is the first room you see when walking in our front door so I'm trying to make it somewhat welcoming.

This is rug is from www.shadesoflight.com

I also would like 2 of these chairs in there. That's brown houndstooth, not black.

I found these on Overstock. That's all I have so far. Still looking and still stashing money aside :)
This is so fun and oh so expensive! We'll see what I actually get.
Happy Thursday!

  2. I am so with you with home decor being expensive! I have been looking around for stuff for our first little nest! I have a good year to look for stuff, but between school expenses and misc. wedding expenses it is hard to stash away money to decorate with! Have you heard of Maggies on Bull Street? It's an antique/consignment place that has some good stuff! I saw a bakers rack in there that I flipped for last week! I wanted it so so so bad, but then I realized I have no where to store it for the next year and sadly left it there.

What area did y'all buy in, if you don't mind me asking! We are looking to live in Pooler whether that be an apartment or a small house. Maybe we might be neighbors if it is out there! Congrats again!

  7. How fun! I've already told my fiance that I want our monograms put somewhere in our room and those pillow cases are gorgeous! And the chairs are very nice! You've got great taste!
