Where have I been???

I can't believe its been so long since my last post! There has been so much going on that I find myself getting ready to post and get distracted. So, here we go.

  • Most of my time has been spent working on this baby. Jim and I have never worked so hard to decorate (me), landscape (him) and redo this entire house. It was and still is a long process, but we sure are having fun doing it. Owning the condo was nothing on this house. So much more work and maintenance to keep up. We wouldn't have it any other way!

  • Last weekend we went to Lake Burton in North Georgia with some friends. What a beautiful place! All we did was ride the boat and do water sports during the day and cook out and play games at night. It was a very relaxing weekend spent with great friends!

Obviously, my husband didn't have any fun at all....

While we were at Lake Burton I HAD to ride by Nick Saban's lakehouse (coach for Alabama). I'm pretty sure by sending these pictures to my dad I got the "Best Daughter of the Year" award. Needless to say, my dad was thrilled!

  • Our sweet friends Brooke and Peyton welcomed their little boy Lawson into the world last week. We are so thrilled for them and can't wait to see him.

This is me and Brooke at our wedding.

  • I have an extremely heavy heart today. My high school boyfriend's brother was killed yesterday. He came home to someone breaking into his home and the intruder shot Heath and killed him.

Heath was 25 years old and no ordinary guy. Heath was a Christian like no other. Heath never met a stranger but always let it be known that he loved Jesus! Ever since I've known him he was always a huge follower and man of God. It was amazing how strong his faith was!

He was a dj for a Christian radio station in Columbus and was in a Christian band. I always remember Heath struggling with feeling like he never did enough for Jesus, but we all know exactly who he's singing with right now.

I couldn't sleep last night for anything knowing that God took away such an amazing person. I will never question what He does, but will often struggle with understanding it.

Story here

Sorry to end in such terrible news. Happy Hump Day to everyone! Can't believe its already Wednesday! Whoooo hoooo!!!

  5. I am so sorry to hear that! He is in a better place, but it is so hard on the ones here to be without him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

I am so glad to hear that everything is going well with being homeowners! Your home is stunning! Congratulations again! You are going to have to give me some decorating tips come spring when Thomas and I find a place! We are crossing our fingers a wonderful job offer comes along so that we can buy something (probably a townhouse). He graduated in May and is still hunting! :( God will provide though! He knows our needs and will meet them!

  8. Cant wait to see pics of the inside of the house! It's so cute! I know you are doing amazing things to it! I've been to lake burton before...have family in North Ga! :) Looks like a great time, and would you not just love to vacation at Nick Saban's dream lake house?! Woah... much less OWN it! Ha...
So sorry to hear about your friend's brother. SO tragic. You are right, we will NEVER understand some things this side of Heaven. We just have to trust that EVERYTHING (ESPECIALLY the bad things) fall between God's Love and His Sovreignty. My Bible study yesterday was on JUST that! We don't like it, we don't understand it, but we know that GOD is good, and His love never fails.
Glad all is well with you! Havent heard from you (or B)'s blogs and I was so excited to hear she had the baby!!!

  9. Heath led praise and worship for the youth at our church. My mom sent me the link to your blog...she has been following for a while and called to ask if I had heard about Heath since my husband and I live near Columbus. Such a sad story but better that Heath is in Heaven than his murderer in hell, no matter how terrible his sin. God's plan is perfect...but I know so many miss him here on earth.

You have such a cute blog. I look forward to reading it!

  10. Guns Guns Guns! Doesn't anyone realize how insane it is that we don't have adequate gun control to stop a senseless murder like this one? So many people die every year because we have such a ridiculous attitude towards gun control. Nowhere else on earth do people face the danger we do from guns in the wrong hands. So so sad.
