A lot of random stuff

Yesterday I went to Macy's and changed my flatware pattern. We orginally decided on Kate Spade Larabee Dot, which I really do love, but I just think it's too 'cute' and I HAVE GOT TO get away from all the 'cute' stuff. I am so tired of my college stuff that bought because it was 'cute'. We decided to change it to Kate Spade Union Street. A little more classic and timeless.

This is the Larabee Dot

And, this is the Union Street I changed it to. I'm happy with my decision (even though I LOVE the Larabee Dot). I'll be thankful I did that later.

This weekend Willy and I are staying in town because he has to work Saturday and we are both working an event tonight and tomorrow night for a local restaurant. It's really good money and we are in desperate need of it :)

When I'm not working or laying out, I'm going to try to work on a little project for our candy bar at the wedding. I want the table to look so cute and whimsical so I'm going have these set up behind all the candy.

I will probably use pink and yellow gumballs like these for the tops.

It doesn't look like its going to be that hard. I am just going to buy a few of these styrofoam balls and some cute white pots and glue on the candy! I am going to tie this cute pink and yellow ribbon I found around the stick.

I will be sure to post pictures when my project is completed.

And, OUR FURNITURE WILL BE HERE SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!! I feel like a kid and my barbie birthday party is on Saturday. I'm pitiful!

Happy Happy Friday!!!!!

  2. you made a good choice on your new flatware, it's timeless. I still have mine after 30 years of marriage.
if gluing alone doesn't work (i'm not sure about styrofoam + gum) maybe stick a toothpick in the gumball and then glue the pick and stick it in the foam.

  3. I love the Larabee Dot, but you are right. It is too cute. I have a problem picking cute over timeless and then getting tired of it. Good choice! I love the idea of the gumball tree!

  5. The dots are precious but you made the right decision to change. My advice is to ALWAYS go classic over cute or trendy on the big ticket items. (of course my daughter would say, "MAMA...you just DON'T understand...)

  9. I SHOULD NOT have read your blog on Saturday. My husband was hoping I was finished with all the Easter stuff....I was in charge of planning our family Easter Gathering/Egg Hunt (which was Sunday) and after I saw those cute candy topiaries, I HAD to make one with jelly beans for the dessert table! :) It was a little last minute, yes, but turned out SO cute!
Oh, and my flatware is very similar to the one you changed to... but ours is Waterford. I think you'll be glad you changed patterns!
